Abstract

We have reanalyzed elastic alpha scattering data on many target nuclei from Ca-40 up to Pb-208 over a wide range of energies. Using double-folded potentials we have obtained excellent agreement between the experimental scattering data and our optical model calculations. In addition, bound state properties have been calculated successfully. A systematic behavior of the energy and mass dependence of the strengths of the real and imaginary potentials has been found.
