Abstract

An efficient formation or spiroisoxazoline ring system by intramolecular oxidative cyclisation of o-phenolic oxime-esters and oxime-amides using phenyliodonium diacetate (PIDA) is described. The intramolecularoxidative cyclisation or various o-phenolic oxime-acid derivatives inacetonitrile at 0 degrees C proceeded smoothly to afford spiroisoxazolines in good yields. Synthesis of o-phenolic oxime-esters and oxime-amides was also described. (C) Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
