Abstract

A simple and sensitive separation and preconcentration procedure is presented for the determination of zinc, iron, copper, cadmium, cobalt,and nickel in urine at mu g/l level by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. The procedure is based on chelate formations of theinvestigated metals with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (NaDTDC) and recovery of the chelates from the Amberlite XAD-16 column with 1 M HNO3in acetone. The relative standard deviations (RSD)for the determinations were found to be lower than 0.07.
