Abstract

The trace metals (Cd, Cu, Ph, and Zn) were determined in the Carmen-La Machona lagoon system, Tabasco, Mexico, on the basis of relative lability by utilizing anodic stripping voltammetry and Ca-Chelax resin insuccessful column and batch procedures, The samples were collected at19 stations in November 1993. Total soluble metals were found in a wide range: 30-57% for zinc, 31-38% for lead, and 34-38% for copper. Soluble cadmium was not detected in the lagoon system. Most of the metalswere in a 'very labile' or 'moderately labile' fraction with a small percentage of 'slowly labile' and no 'inert' fraction.
