Abstract

The photolysis of low molecular weight ketones (4-tridecanone, 3- and5-dodecanone) at wavelengths longer than 300 mn and in hydrocarbon solvents has been investigated by FTIR, GC/MS and GC/FTTR. The quantum yield and the rate of decomposition were compared with those of a low molecular weight hydroperoxide (3-hydroperoxyhexane).
