Abstract

This study examined previously collected data (total N = 2,113) in anattempt to determine (a) whether there is a relationship between belief in the paranormal and superstition, and (b) if so, how large this association might be. The conclusion, after examining some 37 correlational analyses, was that there is indeed a positive relationship between the two variables, and that the typical value of the correlation is,in one set of data, +.23, which may be regarded as low, and in a second set of data, +.35, which may be regarded as moderate. Implications for parapsychologists are discussed.
