Abstract

Stochastic pump models have been widely used to describe the classical dynamics of isolated, multidimensional weakly chaotic systems, such as the nuclear motion of a molecule in a regime of weak rovibrational coupling. We recently showed that quantization severely restricts energy flow in the stochastic pump model. We show here how introducing a weak external noise mimicking the effect of dephasing collisions to thequantum stochastic pump model has dramatic consequences for the flow.
