Abstract

The reactions of tris (pentafluorophenyl) bismuth difluoride with chlorotrimethylsilane, trimethylsilicontrifluoroacetate and trimethylsilicontrifluoromethanesulphonate gives tris(pentafluorophenyl) bismuth dichloride, bis(trifluoroacetate) and bis(trifluoromethanesulphonate) innearly quantitative yields. The products were identified by F-19 and C-13{F-19} NMR spectroscopy. The products of the thermal decompositionare described. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
