Abstract

The geological-geomorphological profile with photolegend based on theinterpretation of the previously unpublished submarine photographs obtained by the towed photodevice PPh-69 on the slope of the Ita-Maitai guyot (Magellan seamounts, Pacific) during the IX cruise of the R/V ''Academik Mstislav Keldish'' (1984) is compiled. It represents the geological-facial structure and the detailed topography of the slope at the depths from 2400 m to 3500 m. A detailed characteristic of the recognized types of the bottom topography is given. The presence of the Fe-Mn encrustation of the outcrops of basalts is detected, The analysis of obtained data combined with existing geological-geophysical information provides to confirm certain conclusions about the history of the recorded deep-sea Fe-Mn crusts formation.
